The colony runs on templated coaching
Every invention bay is hand-authored. The hints, the lore, the “try splitting the shield differently” nudges are written once and reused. That means the full game costs us close to nothing per child — so we can give the whole thing away and mean it.
Code owns the answer key
A deterministic check decides right from wrong — never an AI guessing. That keeps feedback fair, consistent, and un-gameable, and it’s also why the free tier is cheap to run: the part that matters most needs no expensive model behind it.
